I work across painting, textiles, drawing and sculpture. I’m interested in weight, rhythm, process and tension. Particularly, tensions around care; for myself, my family and the planet through intimate explorations of materials using common vocabulary within gardening, constructed textiles and visual arts making. I work site responsively with materials that are found, passed to me or in their raw state. This includes inherited/family fabrics and threads, cardboard packing, natural ephemera, clips and pins. This has involved making ephemeral sculptures with ‘weeds’, soil, flowers and thread symbolic of offerings, portals and ritual.
